Qualifications
To be eligible for Student Membership an applicant must be a full-time graduate or undergraduate student in good standing at a recognized university or college. Eligibility for Student Membership shall terminate at the close of the calendar year in which the Student Member ceases to be a graduate or undergraduate student in good standing at a recognized university or college.

Student Member Application
All student applications must contain the signature of a faculty member.

Corporate Sponsorship Program - SEG is proud to announce the creation of the Student Membership Corporate Sponsorship Program. Halliburton is the initial sponsor of the program and has graciously agreed to sponsor the dues of student members of SEG for a two-year term ending in September 2004. A student majoring in geophysics or any field of study related to or generally associated with geophysics at a college of acceptable academic standards qualifies for membership as an SEG Student member.

Applicants for Student Membership must complete an application form and return it to SEG. Current Student Members were sent a dues statement for the year beginning January 1, 2003. Each application and dues statement contains following statement and option for the applicant’s or renewing Student Member’s dues to be paid under the Program:

Halliburton is the corporate sponsor of the Student Membership Corporate Sponsorship Program. Under this Program Halliburton will pay your dues if you so elect. Information about you contained in SEG's records will be sent by SEG to Halliburton if you elect to participate in this program.

To elect to have Halliburton pay Student membership dues under the
Student Membership Corporate Sponsorship Program you must check the box on the dues statement or application. If you do not check the box, please include your dues payment with your application or dues statement.

A list of Student Members whose dues are paid under the Program and who have authorized the release to Halliburton of information about them will be sent to Halliburton by SEG. The list will include to the extent contained in SEG's records:

a. Your Name
b. School
c. Area of study
d. Degree sought
e. Expected date of graduation
