Pavlo Cholach, geophysicist with bp, has visited Geophysical Department and SEG student section in Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University in May, 2005.
Pavlo Cholach has graduated from Kyiv Taras Shevchenko University with honors in 1997 and joined graduate program at University of Alberta, AB, Canada, in 1999. He defended Ph.D. thesis "The elasticity of intrinsically anisotropic rocks" at UofA in 2005 and currently works as interpretation geophysicist for bp (one of the world leading energy companies).
Students discussed with Pavlo current advances in geophysical acquisition, processing and interpretation techniques. Pavlo also answered numerous questions by students and Faculty staff (G. Prodayvoda, P. Gryshchuk, M. Reva, S. Vyzhva) on educational standards and geophysical training programs generally in Canada, and particularly in the UofA.
