Not all from you for certain know, where I am and as here has got. At present I am in Sweden in the small city with a nice name Lulea, that on coast of Baltic Sea and in 100 km from a polar circle. Here is the big Swedish and known in technical branches in the Europe high school - Technical University of Lulea. In the sizes, quantity of students and teachers, let me tell you, it is less than ours Kyiv National University named after T. Shevchenko.
Remarkable feature of university is the powerful material resources. And it touches all the directions and specialties. That already has had time to see, perhaps, only to our geological museum equal here will not be. All audiences are equipped by the multimedia equipment, in corridors and the special equipped classes computers of public using with connection to a uniform database and Internet connection are placed. In technical cases there are own laboratories equipped by modern devices and technical equipment.
But it about the technical side. I want to return here a little bit later. Except material resources, the university is simply obliged to possess professorial structure and employees of divisions. In general all here is presented, but : Let's try to understand this "but".
Training at university is constructed absolutely on other principles, rather than we have got used to observe in Ukraine. Academic year is divided into quarters, by results of each of which pass examinations in the heard subjects. In a magistracy (where I stay) in this quarter to me read 2 (!) subjects. Thus the schedule has floating enough character. So, for example, I've got 1 class on Monday, there is no classes on Tuesday, 2 classes on Wednesday (one morning, the second - after a dinner), etc. What are the lectures here? Lecture has habitual to us duration, but the teacher never goes deeply into a subject. He doesn't deviate a material stated in the textbook, except for the expanded program, and states the material very superficially. Thus, for one lecture students listen to enough big volume from the textbook, what means that the material in the further should be prepared for examination. On results of a quarter in both subjects I have lectures in volume 400-500 pages on each of rates. It means that the most part of time is given for independent work of students. Here I shall make a small pause and I shall notice, that : our teachers have to be stated a monument literally words therefore as all this work is made by them and just after is presented to students in the refined view. There and then it turns out so, that the lecturer runs on tops, thus the precise picture in such subject as freshwater geochemistry (that I with pleasure have forgotten already more than 2 years ago) at me even for two weeks has not developed, yet has not taken textbook is also the good side of a medal: all material is graphically illustrated on the multimedia screen during lecture, that a little bit simplifier understanding.

From my point of view one more question about which I shall tell some words is very important. In university there is a library containing the literature on all specialties. The library really huge also has incorporated textbooks in several languages. Here you without effort will find the book necessary to you, and the electronic system of access will assist to find a shelf on which it is, or to occupy the turn (stay in a queue) in case of absence those. Besides the literature necessary to you can be ordered from other libraries of the Europe. By way of the information there is no problem at all.
And a result, perhaps, should be my impressions. I wish to tell to you, that the huge amount of impressions at me from the country and region where I have got. Training - process which is slightly lost on a background of all of it. In the training I very much do not like narrowness of knowledge of teachers outside their basic field of activity. Geology subjects can be conducted not by pure geologists with knowledge of chemistry (for example) but by chemists without fundamental knowledge of geology. In the subject mentioned by me the teacher is not guided in the basic geological processes, but tries to impose to geologists of depth of chemistry : And it is in a magistracy. We shall look, that will be further.
General impression at me is positive. At the first stage there are difficulties with accustoming to system of training and its understanding. Perhaps, this most is difficult.
In this letter I have touched the tops of training process. I have not dropped a word how to choose a high school in Europe, the direction how to act and pass the selection, what documents to submit to embassy and what difficulties in all this arise. If someone from you will show to it any interest, I am ready gradually more deeply or in the same way superficially to discuss with any of you with that. On your desire I ask the President of section to inform me. Also I shall be glad to see on the mail box letters with questions of all without exception of members of section.
